SOCIAL DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMS

Objective

To ensure equitable access to education, health, protection, and social inclusion for underprivileged and marginalized communities—particularly children, people with disabilities, and climate-vulnerable populations—through integrated social development initiatives

Components

I. Non-formal Education
WDAF addresses educational disparities by providing access to basic education for children from disadvantaged backgrounds who are out of school. The foundation runs flexible learning centers, offering literacy, numeracy, and life skills education tailored to the needs of working children, child laborers, and street children—helping reintegrate them into the formal education system where possible.
II. Child Rights and Development
The organization is committed to protecting the rights of children and ensuring their holistic development. Through early childhood care, parental education, child protection awareness, and psychosocial support services, WDAF fosters a safe and nurturing environment for children to thrive physically, emotionally, and mentally.
III. Environment and Climate Change Adaptation
In response to the growing climate crisis, WDAF actively promotes environmental sustainability and community resilience. Programs include awareness campaigns, tree plantation drives, waste management initiatives, and training on climate-resilient agriculture and sustainable practices to mitigate the impact of climate change on vulnerable populations.
IV. Nutrition, WASH, and Food Security
WDAF implements integrated interventions in Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH), nutrition education, and food security. These include promoting proper hygiene practices, installing safe drinking water systems and sanitary latrines, and enhancing food access through kitchen gardening and nutritional support—especially for children, pregnant women, and lactating mothers.
V. Disability Inclusion and Rehabilitation
WDAF champions the rights of persons with disabilities, advocating for their full inclusion and participation in society. Through disability assessments, mobility aids distribution, inclusive education initiatives, and vocational rehabilitation programs, the foundation ensures that people with disabilities are not left behind in the development process.
