AT A GLANCE

Background

The WDA Foundation (World Development Activities) is a non-profit, non-political organization founded on May 1, 2011, committed to promoting human rights, social justice, and sustainable development for marginalized communities in Bangladesh. It focuses on underprivileged groups, including women, children, ethnic minorities, and people with disabilities, emphasizing inclusiveness and community empowerment.

WDAF has implemented integrated programs in education, child rights, women’s empowerment, health, livelihoods, and disaster response—mainly in Dhaka and Faridpur through partnerships with donors, agencies, and government bodies. Its grassroots, community driven efforts continue to improve lives and promote dignity, equity, and opportunity for all.

To empower underprivileged and marginalized communities by promoting social justice, inclusive development, and sustainable livelihoods through innovative programs in education, health, economic empowerment, and environmental resilience

Objectives
  1. To ensure equitable access to education, health, protection, and social inclusion for underprivileged and marginalized communities—particularly children, people with disabilities, and climate-vulnerable populations—through integrated social development initiatives.
  2. To foster economic self-reliance among disadvantaged groups, especially women and youth, by providing skill development, entrepreneurship opportunities, and support for income-generating activities aligned with local market needs.
